Essay Topicson Plato - Apology
Essay Topicson Plato - ApologyPlaton's essay topics on Plato, the leader of ancient Athens, focus mainly on one theme: apology. Apology is often used as a synonym for apology, and in fact this is what the term is commonly used. Apology is frequently equated with apology, but it can also mean a different form of writing, different from what we normally think of as the true Apology. To write a good Apology, Plato recommended having three things in mind when writing an essay on Plato. First, he said, you should plan to write as if someone was dying. In other words, you should be writing just like a doctor would treat a patient. Second, he said, you should avoid piling up too much information. For instance, you should not create more details about Socrates than Plato's dialogues provide, since the dialogues provide too much information.Third, you should plan to be brief. Plato advised his students to keep their speeches short, to make the speech be about the main topic, and to avoid harpi ng on minute details. Many teachers today follow this advice, but I disagree. I think most teachers are too busy planning to be able to make their speeches brief enough. A truly great Apology speech should be short, so as to not overwhelm the listener. The Apology of Socrates, as Plato meant it to be called, provides a good illustration of how to write an Apology. In order to make the speech brief, you should keep it as brief as possible, and you should avoid using the long names of the Dialogues. Instead, Plato wrote the dialogues with shorter terms. You should also avoid using too many detailed details about Socrates and Plato. We can see how this works when we look at another famous speech by Plato, the Apology of Critias.Critias' Apology was written by a critic who was very critical of the orator Caius Marcius, the successor of Cicero, who had been elevated to the seat of the Roman consulship. In this speech, Critias talked about the best manner to get rid of discontent by introd ucing measures that would remove the wickedness and the wrongs of the Romans. As a matter of fact, the Apology of Critias remains one of the most important speeches in the history of the Roman Republic.Apologists sometimes speak of looking back and regretting that their speeches are not as successful as they might have wished. In my opinion, Apologists should avoid these sorts of gestures. It is not very realistic to live up to the expectations of those who expect you to succeed. Apologies are part of the lives of all. Apologies, therefore, should be made by all, but should not be demanded. As we can see, Apology is one of the essays on Plato, which can be used in other types of essays. The best use of Apology as an essay topic on Plato is a conversation between two people. When I have students read this essay, there are two main kinds of reactions. One kind of reaction is the students' natural reaction to learning something new, which is to respond by asking questions. The other kind of reaction is the one when they read a lecture, read an essay, or participate in an educational activity in which the object is to Apologize. The Apology can therefore be both a lecture and an essay. Other essays on Plato contain his ideas in more general terms. He was a student of the philosopher Socrates, and Plato developed Socrates' ideas into his own, according to Plato's teaching. Some of his other writings can also be used as essays.
